About Relentless Data Engineering
We are a UK data platform consultancy. We design, build and operate the modern data stack for companies whose data has outgrown the way it is currently handled, across fintech, manufacturing and B2B SaaS.
Our work links infrastructure to the business outcome: warehouse architecture, multi-tenant ingestion, cost optimisation, semantic layers, data contracts, and self-serve analytics that executives and operators trust.
The engagements we take on tend to share a shape: ingestion that has to keep up with the business, a warehouse bill climbing faster than the data volume that justifies it, and a set of numbers the organisation needs to be able to agree on before it can act on them.
What we do
Platform builds
We deliver greenfield data platforms end to end: warehouse, ingestion, transformation, governance and the analytics layer on top. Our fastest full build took 30 days from nothing to a governed platform serving self-serve analytics.
Ingestion at scale
We build multi-tenant CDC ingestion at the scale of thousands of tenant schemas, sized to change volume rather than tenant count. We have taken source-to-queryable latency from as much as an hour down to about 3 minutes on estates of this size.
Semantic layers and governance
We build warehouse-native semantic layers with documentation-backed metric definitions, data contracts enforced at the mesh boundary, and test-driven pipelines running through CI in containers. Every metric gets an owner, a definition and a test.
FinOps and cost observability
We cut warehouse and ingestion spend by 50–90% through architecture that lets the warehouse do less work, and add the budgets, resource monitors and cost dashboards that keep the saving from eroding once we have gone.
How we work
Engagements are fixed-scope and outcome-priced, delivered in single-week increments rather than multi-month programmes, with retainer options for ongoing operation and evolution. You know what you are getting and what it costs before we start.
The speed comes from the delivery discipline, not from cutting corners:
- Specification before code. Every engagement starts with interviews and a written spec. We break the work down until each piece is small enough to describe precisely, which is what makes it small enough to finish and verify in a week.
- Tests before implementation. We build pipelines test-first: red, green, refactor. A model that ships is a model with a failing test behind it that now passes.
- Contracts at the boundary. Producers publish versioned schemas. Breaking changes fail CI before they reach production rather than surfacing as a broken dashboard.
- A feedback loop that closes. You get weekly updates and regular check-ins, and we review the increment against the spec at the end of each week, so a wrong assumption costs a week rather than a quarter.
- Everything through CI. No artefact reaches production without passing the same tests, contracts and review gates, regardless of how it was produced.
You get documentation of findings and recommendations, alongside the interactive, self-serve dashboards the platform exists to feed. Most engagements include mentoring and handover by default. The goal is always that your team owns, operates and evolves what we built.
Security and confidentiality
We sign NDAs before an engagement begins. We work under least-privilege access to client systems, and inside whatever security and compliance frameworks you already operate. We have no interest in asking you to weaken them for our convenience.
