Privacy notice

Last updated: 9 August 2026

This notice explains what Relentless Data Engineering Ltd does with personal data collected through relentlessdata.co.uk. It is written to be read, not to be survived: if anything here is unclear, ask and we will explain it plainly.

Who we are

Relentless Data Engineering Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect, and why

If you just read the site

Nothing that identifies you.

This site sets no cookies at all, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss and nothing to opt out of. The single thing it stores on your device is your own colour-scheme choice, and only if you make one. The cookie policy covers that in full.

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare records your IP address and request details in its server logs as part of delivering the page. That happens for any website and cannot be switched off: it is how a request reaches a server at all.

Measurement: the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon

This site is built to load one small script, the Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon, served from static.cloudflareinsights.com. It runs only while an analytics site tag is configured. While none is configured, the page does not load it at all, this site makes no third-party requests whatsoever, and no analytics are collected. When it does run it is the only third-party request this site makes, and it is here so we can tell which pages are read and which are ignored.

What it collects: the page you viewed, the referring site that sent you, your approximate country, and coarse device and browser information, all aggregated into counts.

What it does not collect: it sets no cookie, it writes nothing to your device’s storage, it does no cross-site or cross-session tracking, it builds no advertising or behavioural profile, it does not fingerprint your browser, and it never receives your name, email address or anything you type. There is no persistent identifier that follows you from one visit to the next.

We use it because a small brochure site has no funnel worth instrumenting, and page counts are enough. Cloudflare documents the beacon at developers.cloudflare.com.

If you book a call

Our booking calendar is hosted by a third-party scheduler, Calendly, at its own address. The link on our contact page opens it in a new tab: nothing from Calendly is embedded in, or loaded by, this site.

Once you follow that link you are on Calendly’s site, and Calendly’s own privacy and cookie policies apply there, not ours. When you book, you give Calendly your name, email address, chosen time, and anything you type into the booking form, and it passes that to us so the meeting can happen.

If you email us

We keep the message and your address, because that is what an email is.

Under UK GDPR we rely on:

What Legal basis
Cookieless analytics Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): understanding which pages are read, using aggregated counts that do not identify anyone
Arranging and holding a booked call Contract or pre-contract steps (Art. 6(1)(b))
Replying to your email Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): responding to someone who contacted us
Keeping records of work and invoices Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): tax and company law

Storing or reading information on your device requires consent under PECR reg. 6 unless it is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. We rely on no such consent, because the only thing this site stores is a preference you set yourself, deliberately, using the colour-scheme toggle.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

Recipient What they get Where
Cloudflare Hosting: IP and request logs. Analytics: aggregated page counts US and global
Calendly Booking details, and only if you follow the link and book US

Both are outside the UK. Transfers rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations for the US (the UK to US “data bridge” extension to the EU to US Data Privacy Framework) where the recipient is certified, and on the International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses otherwise.

Fonts, stylesheets, scripts and images are served from this site’s own domain rather than a content delivery network. The analytics beacon named above is the single documented exception, and it sets no cookie.

How long we keep things

Data Retention
Analytics 6 months
Bookings and correspondence 24 months after last contact
Client project and billing records 6 years after the end of the relationship, per tax law

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to what we do with it, or send it elsewhere in a portable form. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time by emailing us.

Email info@relentlessdata.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first, but it is your right either way.

Changes

If this notice changes materially we will update the date at the top. Previous versions are in this site’s git history.
