Cookie policy
Last updated: 9 August 2026
The short version
This site sets no cookies. Not ours, not anyone else’s, not before you agree and not after. That is why you were not shown a cookie banner: there is nothing to ask you about.
It stores exactly one thing on your device, and only if you ask it to: which colour scheme you prefer.
This page covers cookies and the equivalent technologies, localStorage and
similar, because the law that governs them (PECR reg. 6) is about storing or
reading information on your device, whatever the mechanism is called. A policy
that said “no cookies” and stopped there would be technically true and
practically misleading.
The one thing stored on your device
| Name | rd-colour-scheme |
|---|---|
| Mechanism | localStorage, not a cookie |
| What it holds | The word light or the word dark |
| When it is written | Only when you press the light and dark toggle in the header. It is never written on page load, and never written for a visitor who does not use the toggle |
| Why | So the site opens in the scheme you chose last time instead of forgetting it |
| Lifetime | Until you clear it. It has no expiry of its own |
| Sent to a server? | No. localStorage is never transmitted with a request, and nothing on this site reads it except the code that applies your choice in your own browser |
If you have never touched the toggle, this entry does not exist and the site follows your operating system’s light or dark setting instead. No consent is required for it: it stores nothing but a preference you set yourself, and the site cannot honour that preference without it.
Analytics: cookieless, and only when it is switched on
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, served from static.cloudflareinsights.com,
and only while an analytics site tag is configured. While none is configured,
nothing loads and this site makes no third-party requests at all. When it does
run, it is the only third-party request this site makes, and it exists so we can
see which pages are read and which are ignored.
It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, so PECR’s consent requirement is not engaged by it. It reports page views, referrers and countries as aggregated counts. It does no cross-site tracking, builds no advertising or behavioural profile, does not fingerprint your browser, and has no persistent identifier that would let it recognise you on a later visit.
The privacy notice covers what it collects, and what it does not, in more detail.
Booking a call
Our booking calendar is not embedded here. The contact page links out to it, and the link opens in a new tab. Nothing from the scheduler loads on this site, so it can set nothing on your device from these pages.
Once you follow that link you are on the scheduler’s own site (Calendly), and its cookies and its policies apply there. Calendly documents its own at calendly.com/legal/cookie-policy. That is the point of the link rather than an embed: the choice to visit is yours, and it is visible.
What we deliberately do not use
- No advertising or retargeting pixels. No Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no Google Ads remarketing.
- No third-party fonts or CDN scripts. Fonts, stylesheets, images and JavaScript are served from this domain, so opening a page does not reveal your IP address to Google Fonts or anyone else. The analytics beacon named above is the single documented exception.
- No session recording or heatmaps.
- No cookie walls. There is nothing to refuse, and every page works the same either way.
Clearing the one entry
Press the toggle to change your choice, or clear site data in your browser to remove the entry entirely: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Clearing it puts the site back to following your operating system’s setting.
